During this difficult time in the economy, it is encouraging to hear of a local company that is experiencing strong growth. But that is the welcome state of play for Waterford Efficient Living (www.wel.ie). Founded only two years ago by Conor Walsh with just one employee and specialising in the insulation business, the company has grown to employ six full-time local workers as well as a dedicated sales manager.
From the outset, Conor Walsh put great emphasis on quality and customer satisfaction and, recently, the National Standards Authority of Ireland (NSAI) awarded Waterford Efficient Living its top quality mark under the HES Scheme.
It is Conor’s ambition to become the premier external insulation and retrofit contractor in Waterford city and surrounding area and he views the NSAI certification as an important milestone on that journey.
At present, millions of euro in grants are going unclaimed by hard-pressed householders but Conor has noticed a definite rise in demand for the government schemes. A total of €4000 is available for external insulation and a very large number of the mid-terraced housing stock in Waterford could have their houses externally insulated for free. With a wide range of colours to choose from, they could get a beautiful new finish to the exterior of their homes that wouldn’t need to be painted for 15 years! Of course, the real benefit is that the houses will be warmer and less expensive to heat. Overall, up to €5050 is available from SEAI under the HES scheme for improving the energy efficiency of your home. Full story here >>
